LOIS' THOUGHTS
This will be a page where I can share some thoughts with you of experiences I've had with customers on a weekly basis. It's exciting for me to hear how consuming Lois Breads has impacted your life. I have a page available that has comments from customers over the years, but this will be like a "journal" where I share MY heart and thoughts with you
MAY 9, McDonalds Meats
A week has almost gone by since bread sales, which were cut shorter than I had planned. The problem started when I forgot my lunch bag. I aways have a last minute check before leaving the parking lot at home and somehow I missed that. I didn't realize it was missing until I was completely set up so it was impossible to drive the 2 blocks home to get it. I ate a little bit for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. but by 11:30 I was getting hungry. I'm a type 2 diabetic. When I eat so early I usually am ready for a snack around 10:30. So, my blood sugar was low since I'd had nothing to eat or drink since early morning . Somehow, and I don't have any idea how, but I must have blacked out and fell or I could have tripped on the umbrella base, but down I went on my knees.I hit my face on the side of my car. I was so cold I was sitting in it to try and get warm, so the passenger side car door was open. I don't remember much about that, or what I hit, but my face took the blow. My jaw, my upper lip, my right cheek ,my back, scrapes on my right arm and knees. No cuts, just scrapes and bumps. Things could have been very different and more serious. I totally believe God summoned angels to come to my aide and softened the fall. He provided a nurse to come to my aide, too. She helped me load up my bread and I drove home and found my lunch and ate it.
So, this week I have taken it easy. My knee has been so sore I wasn't able to go shopping until yesterday. I'm sure there will be some customers tomorrow who wouldn't expect me to be there .There may be some people who witnessed my fall and can fill me in on some details that I don't remember. Lesson learned... always remember my lunch and beverage. I had lots of bread I could have eaten and there was a store full of meat, but I didn't. By that time, my thinker wasn't functioning at full capacity. I am so thankful to God for helping me.

APRIL 18 & 19 McDonalds Meats
Interesting weekend selling bread. Sat. was not good. A cold and blustery wind caused a slow day, hardly any of my regular customers, just about all new that needed to hear "my story" with every sale. That usually sold some bread but I had to work harder for it. I had a lot leftover and I just couldn't store it anywhere for next week, so I decided to come back today and try to sell the rest. That worked out fine and I sold it all except for 1 onion-dill I saved for myself. I bought some beef natural summer sausage (les chemicals in it) and made a sandwich with it. Talk about YUM! That was so GOOD. I'm going to make some tiny sandwiches with it for samples next weekend. Now that will be a HIT promoting their summer sausages and my onion-dill bread.
I have a sign "Lois Breads" that I have on the sidewalk at McDonalds Meats every week. It was NOT in my car when I got there yesterday morning. That really puzzled me. It's always in the back of my car. Did someone steal it from my car? That didn't make any sense. But it wasn't there and I was a desperate ole lady. People count on that sign being there. It can be seen a block or more away, people are glad to see me there and it's a reminder that they need my bread. I was already stewing about what I was to do. My son built that for me and I painted it. I prayed about it and asked God to get it back to me. So, this morning one of the staff gals brought it to my table. I wasshocked to say the least. She said it was in a store room that hardly anyone goes into, but she "just happened" to go in it looking for something this morning and saw my sign. She knew I would want it. Apparently someone found it in the parking lot and I didn't get it loaded in my car last week. It's in fine shape so I don't think I ran over it. I was so relieved to get it back. AND I was so thankful that God answered my prayer. .I met a lady who moved to Clearwater from Brainerd. She was a faithful customer when we sold bread in our yard in Brainerd. She was shocked and happy to have found me and said she will for sure be back regularly. I asked her why she moved down here and she just said she needed a change in her life. "She makes the best bread I've ever tasted"......that's what a young man said as he passed by my table today while a lady was there examining my products. That was good timing! I love it! Sales were pretty steady through the morning, so much so there wasn't a minute to sit down, but that's the way I like it. Several of my faithful, repeat customers made sizable purchases, and that's VERY good. Inventory was getting smaller by noon and it was slower sales until 1:00 p.m. 3 loaves of bread left and I could feel nap time coming on. I sold those last loaves 1/2 price, so I was soon packing up empty containers and heading home. It's so encouraging visiting with the people God brings across my path. People who are impressed when I share "my sermon" with them about the healthy aspects of the bread and they know they need these nutrients in their diet. It amazes me * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * **MARCH 28, 2026 Saturday at McDonalds Meats in Clear Lake,MN A COLD end-of-March day, nothing like the 60-degree day a week before. Of course, I was inside the store. Sales were not quite as good as selling outside last week, but eventually I managed to sell everything. A lady was in the store as I was setting up my display, waiting for me. I recognized her from last week. She told me about her son, recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I didn't get his age, but I assumed as she spoke he was not a small child. Last week she bought a loaf of my Sprouted Wheat Bread which is lower in carbs than my other breads. I'm a type 2 diabetic myself, and I have found it to be an excellent carb for me, with only a slight increase in my blood sugar after consuming it. I can pass that information on to my customers. It has been in high demand and is first to sell-out. Prayer is listed on the label as one of the ingredients, as I pray for every person who is going to purchase my breads. I have no idea if they have any health issues, but I pray that the nutrients in it will be a blessing to them and help them. I prayed through the week for this young man, as I hopedI he was consuming the bread, that it would be of help to him. His mother shared that he enjoyed it, and it satisfied him, making him feel fuller, which store-bought bread does not. The fresh milled 100% whole grain flour bread does that. I was blessed to hear that report from his mom. I had 5 loaves of bread plus some caramel rolls left at 3:00. I was oh-so tired and was ready to head home for a nap. (3:30 a.m. comes early when I'm up making sweet rolls for the day) I decided to pack up and leave when 2 men stopped and asked if I had any bread left. It was already loaded on my cart but I was more than happy to make them a deal. They were 2 happy customers. I thought "isn't that just like GOD". When I got in the car, a song was playing on the radio, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness".....morning by morning new mercies I see, All I have needed Thy hand has provided, great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me."
